The Rise of Eco-Tourism and Co-working Spaces in Resorts
Hotels around the world are moving away from an urban setting to encourage consumers to retreat themselves in nature while providing high end luxury services in a sustainable manner. Founded in 2010, Naked Group currently has 3 eco-resorts and is looking to build 5 more in the next few years. Apart from the rise of eco-tourism, another concept that is being heavily explored is co-working spaces within hotels and resorts. Hubud – a hub in Ubud, Bali is a great example of this model. Boutique hotels like Leman Locke has also introduced creative meeting labs/event spaces for similar purposes. Hotel, bars and restaurants have introduced cultural programs like cocktail masterclasses, tasting sessions, chef’s table and cooking courses.
